Canadian
credit card processing options, which
option is right for you?
In order to accept credit card online in
Canada you need to have a merchant account
provider. Credit card payment processing
is a great way to boost your revenue as
a large portion of payment methods are those
using credit cards.
We have a few options available for merchant
account processors in Canada. We are looking
to expand in this area and hope to have
more before the end of January 2005.
The options we currently have are PayPal
which offers excellent services, however
has slightly higher fees then our other
merchant account providers. For example
PayPal has a 2.9% discount rate and a 35
cent per transaction charge. Our other option
is Cardservice
International which has a lower
2.39% discount rate and a 25 cent per transaction
charge.
Other then lower rates, Cardservice
International can also help
retail merchants as they provide swipe machines,
machines used at the till to process a credit
or debit card payment. Paypal is strictly
for those operating an online business.
